EUROPSO’s 2008 activities

The executive board of Europso had meetings in 2008 Frankfurt and Paris.

EADV congress

The Europso board was present in Paris at the EADV congress!!!! 17th EADV CONGRESS PARIS 2008 - La Ville Lumière in Paris was the seat of the congress held from 17th to 21st September 2008.

Rollerblade race

As IFPA and EUROPSO were present in Paris, we tell you that this event a huge success . Here is some information :

1. During the EADV , posters and leaflets ( in French and in English ) will be distributed to physicians to invite them.
2. Rollerblades will be available for those who wish to join the race .
3. IFPA and EUROPSO will be mentioned as Federations of Patients .
4. Tee-shirts ( with the word Psoriasis printed on them ) will be given to all participants including IFPA and EUROPSO members .
5. The race was held in Paris on Sunday September 21 from 2pm to 5pm . There was a stop at Porte Maillot where participants will find a booth for information and activities .
6. There was a quiz ( about 10 questions ) will be given to participants before the departure . At each break point , they will be able to find clues from associations or physicians .
7. There were 5600 participants without psoriasis for most of them .
8. This event is an awareness campaign on psoriasis . The media ( radio , TV ) was present .

After a turbulent few of months in August, September where we did visit the EADV and our friends of the Ifpa and there was also the celebration of WPD in all our countries. Thanks to the Ifpa and their sponsors we do have since a few years this celebration. Es specially we arranged that we have an agreement with Ifpa to cooperate. Cooperation is necessary and needed for the role of our patients. Only together we are strong to have good medicines in our countries. When needed we will cooperate also with other organizations who are interested in the need of the psoriasis patients. As well in Europe as well in all the parts of Eastern Europe as well over the whole world. We must gain for good medicines in all parts of the world whether it is a rich or a poor countryside. We will support the EU organization in order to obtain facilities for our member associations. Therefore we submitted Europso on the European NGO Directory , funded by the European Commission. In order to include our Federation for their database.

Part of the Europso executive board were quest at the

Belgium association – congress; Psoriasis Arthritis 11th October 2008.

Dutch association - celebrates World Psoriasis day at 1st of November with publicity about psoriasis at the Dutch daycare centres. See picture hereunder.

At the 8th of November there was in Frankfurt (Germany) the celebration of WPD were the secretary of Europso (André Cats and of course the President of Europso Ottfrid Hillmann) was the guest of the German board. About 150 people were present at the very interesting presentations. One of the very interesting part of this event was that Wyett gave money for the youth weekend ’’camp 2009’’ from 7th until 9 th of August 2009. When this will be a success then probably Europso will make an camp with an international character in the future. See picture below.

Medical advice council

Our Eusebio Castillo member of the board of Spain is always looking for Europso to good therapies for psoriasis on the INTERNET. This is what we wants to publish on our website. But we are aware that we are only patients and cannot decide what’s good and what’s a wrong therapy. So when we are working on that possibility, therefore we wants to set up a medical advice council of dermatologists who can decide this for us.

Herewith we can tell you already that we do have the confirmation that one of distinguish Professor Dermatologist has confirmed to help us setting up such a medical advice council of dermatologists.
